ZF-TRW is at the center of a defective products class action settlement involving airbag control units in certain Toyota vehicles, covering current and former owners or lessees of select 2011–2019 Toyota models as of July 31, 2023. The settlement provides $78.5 million in cash and credits, with up to $250 per capita for residual distribution and reimbursement available for documented out-of-pocket expenses. Supporting documentation is required to file a claim. The official claim deadline is December 11, 2028.
