Farmers Insurance $10 Million Labor Class Action Settlement

Farmers Insurance Exchange and related entities agreed to pay $10 million to settle claims that they misclassified insurance agents as independent contractors, denied overtime pay, and discriminated based on age. The settlement covered two groups: agents who worked outside California under non-arbitration agreements between March 9, 2020 and September 30, 2025, and agents age 40 or older terminated through the company's Managing Underperforming Agents program. The claim window closed April 9, 2026.

You may be eligible if you are a Farmers insurance agent with a non-arbitration agreement who worked outside California between March 9, 2020 and September 30, 2025 (overtime/FLSA class), or if you were terminated through the Managing Underperforming Agents (MUA) program and were age 40+ at termination (age-discrimination/FEHA class).
