1. Confirm you purchased U.S. residential real estate listed on an MLS during your state's statutory period and that the purchase completed on or before April 14, 2026
2. Confirm that a real estate agent or broker received a commission on your transaction
3. Gather proof-of-payment documentation (closing statements, settlement statements, HUD statements, or other transaction documents) showing the date of purchase, address, and fees paid to all real estate agents or brokers
4. File a separate claim form for each home purchased — online at claimform.homebuyerlitigation.com or by printing and mailing the PDF form to the settlement administrator
5. Submit your completed claim form(s) before the claim deadline, or mail to: Home Buyer Litigation Claims Administrator, c/o A.B. Data Ltd., PO Box 173065, Milwaukee, WI 53217
6. Choose your preferred payout method: virtual debit card, paper check, PayPal, or Venmo

What the form asks

• — Full street address of each residential property you purchased (Your closing documents, deed, or HUD/settlement statement)
• — The date your purchase transaction closed (Closing disclosure, HUD-1 settlement statement, or deed recording date)
• — The total price you paid for the home as shown on your closing documents (Closing disclosure or HUD-1 settlement statement)
• — The total broker/agent commission paid on your transaction (Closing disclosure or HUD-1 settlement statement under seller or buyer costs)
• — The portion of the commission paid specifically to your buyer's agent or broker (Closing disclosure or HUD-1, look for the buyer's agent commission line item)

Watch out for

• You must file a SEPARATE claim form for each home purchased — one form does not cover multiple properties
• If you do nothing, you forfeit your settlement benefits and lose the right to sue the defendants separately
• To opt out and preserve your right to sue, you must request exclusion before the opt-out deadline, not the claim deadline
• Proof of payment is required — claims without supporting documentation will not be approved
• Payment amounts are pro rata and will not be known until the administrator processes all valid claims
